2025 Year in Review
As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year filled with community connection, conservation outreach, and exciting growth. At 8Trees Inc., every event, partnership, and project is guided by our mission to protect Ontario’s wildlife, especially species at risk, through education, advocacy, and creative public engagement. This year was a major step forward for us, and we’re excited to share the highlights.
Community Events That Made an Impact
Boo at the Zoo – Halloween Outreach
This October, we returned to “Boo at the Zoo” where families enjoyed wildlife education woven into the Halloween fun. Kids and adults alike learned about Ontario’s native species, habitat protection, and ways to support conservation at home. The enthusiasm from visitors made this one of our favourite events of the year.

Local Book Signings
We expanded our educational reach through several book signing events at Cole’s Bookstore at the Pen Center. These signings gave us a chance to promote our children’s book “What’s Under That Log?” and our other children’s notebooks My Nature Notes and My Camp Notes. We enjoyed meeting readers, talking about wildlife conservation.

Gathering of Makers: Indigenous Market Series – Prudhommes Antique Market (August)
In August, we proudly took part in the Indigenous Market Series at Prudhommes Antique Market. Surrounded by talented Indigenous makers, artists, and community educators, we shared wildlife facts, promoted awareness of species at risk, and connected with visitors interested in conservation. This event highlighted the importance of collaborative community efforts in protecting Ontario’s ecosystems.

Introducing the Wildlife Word Contest
This year, we launched a brand-new initiative: the Wildlife Word Contest!
This fun game encourages our online community to learn new wildlife vocabulary that will help to raise awareness about species around the world.
The contest has quickly become a fan favourite—and we’re excited to announce that the first-ever winner will be revealed on December 26th. Stay tuned to our social channels for the big announcement!
