May Wrap-Up: 8Trees Inc. Brings the Fun, and a Little Bit of Chaos!
May has been a whirlwind of excitement, education, and—let’s be honest—a few weather-induced challenges. But through it all, the 8Trees Inc. team powered on, connecting with nature lovers, budding scientists, and families at two incredible events. From student-led research conferences to celebrating endangered species, we’ve been busy spreading joy, awareness, and a whole lot of awesome merch. Let’s dive into the highlights!
🌿 OE3C 2026: Where Students Shine and Stickers Fly!
Our month kicked off at the Ontario Ecology Ethology and Evolution Colloquium (OE3C) at Brock University. OE3C is a student-run conference that’s all about celebrating the diversity of research in ecology, ethology, and evolution. This event is near and dear to our hearts because it’s proof that the future of biology is bright, passionate, and full of curiosity!
At our booth, we were thrilled to see so many young scientists and nature enthusiasts stop by to chat about conservation, biodiversity, and—of course—our must-have merch. And oh boy, did our products steal the show! Our most popular items were our “in habitat” stickers and our adorable toad pushies were a crowd-pleaser, and we’re thrilled to say our first batch flew off the shelves!
Safari Niagara’s Endangered Species Day: Rain or Shine, Conservation Wins!
Mid-May brought us to Safari Niagara for their Endangered Species Day event on May 16th. Our mission? To teach kids (and adults!) about the incredible—but often overlooked—animals that need our help. And let’s just say, the weather tried its best to rain on our parade… but we weren’t having it!
Despite the drizzle, our Kids Craft Corner was a hit! Children made butterflies while learning about the importance of pollinators, and diving deep into the world of endangered herps. Who knew education could be this fun?
Our merch table was just as busy, our most popular items were “Pride Heart Fowler’s Toads” design & our mystery bags!
A special shoutout to Safari Niagara for hosting such an important event and inviting us to be part of it. We can’t wait for World Snake Day in July—stay tuned for more snake-themed fun!
