Where Community Meets Conservation: March Highlights

March was a meaningful month of community conversations and wildlife advocacy for 8Trees. On World Wildlife Day, we were honoured to be invited to a special panel discussion at the Fine Grind Cafe in downtown St. Catharines. It was a wonderful evening filled with curious minds, thoughtful questions, and a shared appreciation for the natural world. Thank you to Anne for representing 8Trees and sharing her knowledge about the Wainfleet Bog and other important wetlands in the region. We are also grateful to The Community Café (affiliated with Brock University) for creating a welcoming space where meaningful conversations about conservation, species at risk, specifically amphibians and reptiles, could take place.

The momentum continued later in the month when we were invited to participate as panelists at the Stronger Together tour, hosted by Tara Cullis and David Suzuki, at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre on March 14th. Events like these highlight the importance of bringing community members, educators, and conservation advocates together to discuss the protection of our shared environment, sensitive ecosystems and species at risk. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who attended, asked questions, and supported these conversations. Your engagement helps keep awareness, curiosity, and conservation efforts growing in Niagara and beyond. Read more about the event here!

Stay tuned for the events we have coming in April!
